15 Days/14 Night – Horn of Africa with Ethiopia, Somaliland, Djibouti and Eritrea

Day 01: Arrival in Addis Ababa and city tour of the capital.

Day 02: Flight to Hargeisa, Somaliland and visit the cattle market. Afternoon excursion to the famous rock paintings at Laasgeel. Overnight in Hargeisa.

Day 03: Drive to the walled city of Harar in Ethiopia. Evening Hyena feeding.

Day 04: Explore the walled city of Harar with its colourful markets and unique architecture. Late afternoon drive to Diredawa for overnight.

Day 05: Drive to Lake Abbe in Djibouti. You will visit the unique volcanic chimneys at Lake Abbe.

Day 06: Drive to Djibouti city.

Day 07: Morning city tour of Djibouti city and afternoon boat crossing to Tadjourah.

Day 08: Scenic drive back to Djibouti through the volcanic formations at Ardikobah and Lake Assal, one of Africa’s lowest points. Evening flight back to Addis.

Day 09: Flight to Mekele and drive to the Gheralta Mountains.

Day 10: Full day around the Gheralta Mountains to visit the rock hewn Churches of Tigray.

Day 11: Drive back to Mekele and flight back to Addis to catch your afternoon flight to Asmara, Eritrea.

Day 12: Full day to explore beautiful Asmara with its unique architecture.

Day 13: Drive to Massawa on the Red Sea. Afternoon excursion to Desse island or explore the old town.

Day 14: Drive back to Asmara and continue to Keren.

Day 15: Visit the Monday market in Keren which attracts people from different ethnic groups. The cattle, camel and spice markets are unique. Drive back to Asmara for a late lunch and late afternoon flight back home.
